ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg concludes “it wouldn’t cost Minnesota too much to make a change.”

Rittenberg notes that 1) Tim Brewster signed an extension this winter through the 2013 season, but his buyout was significantly lowered, 2) If Minnesota fires Brewster without just cause, it only owes him half of his $400,000 base salaries. His previous deal required the school to pay his full base salaries, and 3) Brewster’s salary didn’t increase with the new contract, as he receives $1 million, including supplemental and deferred compensation.
