Lots of Bears news today as @JasonKingYahoo tweets that Baylor administrators have reinstated LaceDarius Dunn into school, but he remains indefinitely suspended from the basketball team.  Dunn is facing an aggravated assault charge, in which he is accused of breaking his girlfriend’s jaw during an argument.

Dunn was a second-team All-Big 12 pick last year, averaging 19.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, to help the Bears reach the Elite Eight.

Jeff Rabjohns of the Indianapolis Star writes that if 6-foot-9 Columbian basketball player Hanner Perea is unable to fulfill his verbal commitment to Baylor and Bears coach Scott Drew, Indiana could be a potential destination.  Perea’s AAU teammate, 7-foot center Peter Jurkin, has already committed to the Hoosiers. Perea is widely considered to be one of the top 25 players in the junior class. Earlier today, Jeff Goodman of reported that Baylor’s recruitment of Perea is currently under investigation by the NCAA.

Jeff Goodman of writes that Baylor’s recruitment of 6-foot-9 Columbian high school basketball player Hanner Perea is the subject for forthcoming review by the NCAA. Baylor coach Scott Drew and members of the Bears coaching staff will be interviewed later this month in Waco by NCAA officials.

Attorney Jim Darnell, who also represented former USC and current UTEP coach Tim Floyd in dealings with the NCAA, confirmed to he was hired by Drew in September.
