Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald writes that Georgia AD Greg McGarity said he expects Mark Richt to be back next season saying before yesterday’s Georgia-Auburn game, “Sure I do,” McGarity said. “Absolutely… I fully expect Mark Richt to be with us for awhile… Based on the first 10 games, there’s no question about that.”

Richt laughed when asked about his name coming up with the Colorado job, saying: “Georgia’s my home.”

Richt, under contract through the end of the 2013 season, is 95-33 in 10 seasons at Georgia.

Ralph Russo of the Associated Press writes that Tim Brewster is “way out in front in the first-to-be-fired pool” after losing five straight. Russo expects Minnesota to fire Brewster before the end of the season.

Russo also notes that after 11 player arrests and a 2-4 record, Georgia might need to run the table to save Mark Richt’s job.

Russo also puts Dan Hawkins on notice. He writes that a 3-1 start might prove to be a mirage after a 26-0 loss at Missouri last week.

Russo writes that Ron Zook seems to be safe for now, after coming into a critical year. Russo says that the Illini are a “good bet” for four more wins which should be enough for Zook to survive another year.
