ESPN.com’s Andrea Adelson reports that North Texas has fired head coach Todd Dodge. The Mean Green is 1-6 this season and Dodge’s record through 3 ½ years is 6-37. North Texas has named offensive coordinator Mike Canales as interim coach. Adelson notes that a future candidate at North Texas could be current New Mexico coach Mike Locksley, who is on the hot seat himself at New Mexico.

Adam Zuvanich (@ZuviesViews) of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal writes that New Mexico coach Mike Locksley tops his list of coaches on the hot seat, followed by Colorado’s Dan Hawkins, Washington State’s Paul Wulff, and Texas A&M’s Mike Sherman now find themselves on the hot seat.

Zuvanich writes that Locksley and the Lobos are 0-6 and has lost their games by an average of 34 points. This on the heels of getting into an altercation with an assistant coach and being accused of discriminating against a longtime university employee.  All of this in the span of about 12 months.
