Diamond Leung of writes that a new book by George Dohrmann, “Play Their Hearts Out,” claims that UCLA coach Ben Howland and former Buckeye and current college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg improperly contacted the family of guard Roberto Nelson. Howland denies the claim and an Ohio State compliance official told the Columbus Dispatch that a violation was not commited. NCAA rules prohibit former players from recruiting players to their alma mater. Kellogg told the Dispatch he was not representing Ohio State during the call, which was facilitated by a third party, a person he could not recall. Nelson ended up at Oregon State where he sat out last season due to NCAA eligibility guidelines.
