Ralph Russo of the Associated Press writes that Tim Brewster is “way out in front in the first-to-be-fired pool” after losing five straight. Russo expects Minnesota to fire Brewster before the end of the season.

Russo also notes that after 11 player arrests and a 2-4 record, Georgia might need to run the table to save Mark Richt’s job.

Russo also puts Dan Hawkins on notice. He writes that a 3-1 start might prove to be a mirage after a 26-0 loss at Missouri last week.

Russo writes that Ron Zook seems to be safe for now, after coming into a critical year. Russo says that the Illini are a “good bet” for four more wins which should be enough for Zook to survive another year.
